Today's Tailgate recipe is
Corndogs
You'll need:
At least 8-10 beef hotdogs
10 bamboo skewers
Cornbread mix
cornstarch (to dust the outside of the hotdogs lightly befor dipping-this keeps the batter from running off of your hotdog.)
Corn oil or vegetable oil
1 tall drinking glass
Skewer your hotdogs and set aside.
Mix your cornbread mix according to the box instructions
Pour what you can into the drinking glass (set aside the rest to be used as needed while you make the corndogs.
Lightlly dust the outside of your hotdog with the cornstarch. Set aside.
Begin heating the oil of your deep fryer 375 deg F -400 deg F(191deg. C-204 deg C) (if you have one, if not, heat oil in a skillet medium to medium high. )
Dip your skewered hotdog into the cornbread mixture in the glass.
Fry until golden brown. If you are using a skillet, try to arrange your corndog in such a way that the bamboo skewer is not down in the skillet with the rest of the corndog.
